Rabbi Yehuda HaLevi's Kuzari in a new Hebrew translation by Prof. Michael Schwarz: ספר הכוזרי, הוא ספר הטענה והראיה לדת המושפלת, published by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Press.
Yehuda HaLevi, the great poet and thinker of the Golden Age of Spain, wrote the Kuzari in Judeo-Arabic as a philosophical dialogue between the king of the Khazars and a Jewish sage on the foundations of Judaism. Schwarz, an Israel Prize laureate known for his Hebrew translation of Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed, brings deep knowledge of Arabic and Judeo-Arabic language and culture to a translation that is accurate and readable in contemporary Hebrew.
The edition includes extensive notes and a glossary of recurring Arabic terms. For students of Jewish philosophy and anyone who wants to read the Kuzari closely. Hardcover, 456 pages, 2017.
