The Apartment is a 2016 novel by Danielle Steel, one of the world's most widely read novelists. Four young women at turning points in their lives come together by chance in the heart of New York City, sharing a spacious walk-up loft in Hell's Kitchen: Claire, an aspiring shoe designer; Abby, a writer making her own way far from her family in Los Angeles; Morgan, who has a serious finance job on Wall Street; and Sasha, a medical student.
Their shared home grounds them, and they become a family of friends who comfort one another through career setbacks, romance and hard choices, until they face the bittersweet truth that one day they will leave the place where their dreams began.
