This is the Hebrew edition of Ellen Snortland's Beauty Bites Beast: Awakening the Warrior Within Women and Girls, published in Hebrew as היפהפייה מתעוררת: להתחבר מחדש ללוחמת הפנימית and translated by Yael Kahana-Shadmi.
Snortland writes about women's need, and responsibility, to be able to protect themselves, and looks at the cultural forces that create that need while keeping women from learning self-defense. She calls it a “how-come” book rather than a “how-to” book: instead of teaching techniques, it asks why so many women and girls never learn to defend themselves, and combines research, real stories and feminist analysis to build confidence.
