Israeli Air Force Yearbook 2015-2016. Is the 6th book in my IAF Yearbook series. The previous book in the series was published four years ago. During that period of time the IAF has gone through many changes. New platforms arrived: the M-346 “Lavi” new trainer, C-130J “Shimshon” new heavy transporter and the Elbit Hermes 900 “Kochav” UAV are already here, and the F-35 “Adir” will follow soon. Veteran platforms are phasing out: the AH-1 “Tzefa” after almost 40 years in IAF service and the A-4 “Ahit” after almost 50 years of service. Some IAF active fleets are celebrating anniversaries: F-15 “Baz” celebrates 40 years of service, AH-64A “Peten” celebrates 25 years, the S.A 565 “Atalef” celebrates 20 years of operations, the Gulfstream “Nachshon”, F-16I “Sufa” and AH-64D “Saraf” are celebrating a decade of operations. IAF squadrons are also celebrating: the CH-53 “Night Leadres” and UH-60 “Desert Owls” squadrons celebrate their 50th anniversary. Maritime Patrol unit, MANAT (Flight Test Center) and CSAR Unit 669 are celebrating their 40th anniversary while C-130 “Yellow Bird” squadron celebrates 40 years of the Entebbe raid. Some less known units are unveiled: “YAHAK” (Forward Landing Unit), Loadmasters Unit and “Shaldag” special operations unit. You will also find special reports on the IAF Air Defense Command, IAF Advanced Training Center at Ovda AFB and international exercises held there, and IAF maintenance units structure and missions. The book size is A4, 100 full color pages with over 300 photos.
