Born in 1919 in Horsens, Denmark, Dr. Jørgen Kieler, interrupted his medical studies to join the Danish resistance group Frit Danmark (Free Denmark) to fight against the Nazi occupation. Until his retirement in 1989 he was director of the Fibiger CancerInstitute in Copenhagen. A survivor of PortaWestphalica, he has published extensively on the stress-related disorder kz (concentration camp) Syndrome.This is his fourth book about the occupation of Denmark in the Second World War.
