Yonatan "Yoni" Netanyahu or Jonathan Netanyahu was born on March 13, 1946 and died on July 4, 1976, during Operation Entebbe at Entebbe airport, where the Israeli military rescued hostages after an aircraft hijacking.
He was a member of the Israel Defense Forces elite Sayeret Matkal unit. His younger brother Benjamin Netanyahu was Prime Minister of Israel from 1996-1999.
Jonathan Netanyahu was awarded the Medal of Distinguished Service for his conduct in the Yom Kippur War.
