Jean Ancel (1940, Ia i 2008, Jerusalem) earned his doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1977. He was a research fellow at the Yad Vashem International Institute for Holocaust Research. His publications include Comprehensive History of the Holocaust: The Holocaust in Romania (2012) and The Economic Destruction of Romanian Jewry (2007). He also edited the two-volume Memoirs & Diaries by Wilhelm Filderman.
