Ramona R. Freedman was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. She graduated from the university of New South Wales with B.A. in Sociology and Psychology. Further to this, she obtained a diploma in public relations, publicity and promotion from the Australian College of Journalism. She has worked in both corporate and communal public relations, and as a columnist for the Austrian Jewish News

Ramona has always been actively involved in Jewish communal affairs. Her passion for Judaism and writing led her to chronicle this book while living in New York, where she worked as a communications associate at Yeshiva University. Ramona returned to Sydney in September 2001, with her husband, Oliver, and is currently completing her M.A. in communication management at the University of Technology, Sydney.
