Leah Abramowitz studied with the late Professor Nehama Leibowitz for forty-five years. She is, by profession, a medical social worker and works at Shaare Tzedek Medical Center. In addition, she is a freelance journalist and has written articles for the past twenty-eight years for the Jerusalem Post and magazines in the United States and South Africa. She is the coordinator of Melabev, an organization for the care of cognitively impaired senior citizens and their families, and is also the coordinator of the Geriatric Institute for training professional and paraprofessional workers in the helping fields on subjects related to gerontology. Abramowitz is married to Abe and is blessed with many children and grandchildren. She is privileged to live in the reconstructed Jewish Quarter Jerusalem’s old city.
