Fred Daniels was born in Amsterdam in 1932. From 1942 to 1945 he was forced into hiding in Holland. After the war he studied law at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Nijmegen.

Mr. Daniels has written two previous books: Schimmen in het Duister, (Shadows in the Twilight), which has been translated into English, German and Hebrew, and Versteende Tranen, published in English as Endless Memories.

He immigrated to Israel in January 1968 and today lives in Jerusalem, where he practices law.
