Michael Goldmann Gilead was born in Poland in 1925 and lived with his family in Katowice near the German border until 1939. After making aliyah, he served in the Israel Police as an investigator. He was part of the Bureau 06 team that interrogated Adolf Eichmann and was personal assistant to Gideon Hausner, chief prosecutor in the 1960 trial. Today he is married with five children and eleven grandchildren. He researches the Holocaust period and volunteers for various public organizations.
