Hamutal Bar-Yosef is a well-known Israeli-born writer, poet, translator, and scholar. She has published sixteen collections of poetry, which have been translated into numerous languages, as has her collection of stories The Wall. She has also translated numerous works from English, Russian, French, and Yiddish into Hebrew. Bar-Yosef is the recipient of numerous literary prizes. She is Professor Emeritus of Hebrew literature at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and has also been a visiting professor in Paris, Moscow, and at Columbia University in New York.
