David Faiman earned degrees from the universities
of London and Illinois. His professional career was devoted to research, first in theoretical
physics (Oxford, CERN, Weizmann Institute)
and then in applied solar energy (Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev). Upon retirement as professor emeritus, he began serious research into the music of Giacomo Meyerbeer. He has discovered dozens of the composer’s lost songs, produced CDs for Naxos Records, and provided songs for CDs by Antes Edition.
