Esther Hertzog is a social anthropologist. She is Senior Lecturer and head of the Anthropology program at Beit Berl Academic College. Among her publications: Immigrants and Bureaucrats: Ethiopians in an Israeli Absorption Center (Berghahn, 1999); Israel: Local Anthropology (co-editor; Hebrew, Cherikover, 1998; an English edition, Wayne State University Press, forthcoming).She writes an opinion column in the Israeli daily, Ma''ariv. A collection of her articles was published as Op-Ed, Feminist Social Justice in Israel (in Hebrew, Cherikover, 2004).
